BFBC2 night comments
Well, it was a blast from the (fairly recent) past. We didn't get to play Valparaiso, sadly, which is my fave map of all on BFBC2.
It is a great game, isn't it? It doesn't have as much stuff as BF3 of course, but it's still a very good game. And as such, this nostalgia night was pretty fun. I got reminded of what BC2 is like, with all its quirks and whatnot. Oh, and the team stacking. Oh, and the cheaters too.
Those 2 things really put a damper on the fun for me. Enough to know that the fate of BFBC2 really must be avoided in BF3, even though these 2 things are seen in BF3 already. But don't count on evenbalance (PunkBuster makers) or on super team balancing algorithms. Those things can take a lot of time, and in the end they might not even appear.
The measures I see as the best ideas are thus: build a clan, get a server, and play only with honest people, keeping the teams balanced.
And so, full circle, we are here.

It was certainly fun to revisit BFBC2, but after getting steamrolled and killed repeatedly THROUGH ROCKS and WALLS, well, it wasn't so much fun anymore. Especially after checking on the guy who's been killing you again and again and seeing a 70/6 kd ratio....hum...as Horus put it so well last night: ''Gee, which website did you download your skills from?...''.

Nope! All my hardware is good! We found the culprit and it aint pretty and non-fixable. File System Integrity Error. System repair nor chkdsk can't do a thing about it so I have to re-install, which shouldn't take long, but my bf3 and bc2 stats will reset.

Your stats will reset? Really? I mean....are you actually having to delete your entire profile?

yeah, your stats should NOT reset because they're stored online. as long as you can log back in, you should be just fine!

yeah best of luck with that horrible issue you've got there! but at least you can rest assured that your stats will be waiting for you when you get your machine restored.

Hopefully that's just a smaller (60-120gb) partition that you have to reformat. If not, I suggest you partition your HDD with a small OS partition and a data partition. That way, if something terrible like this happens, you don't have to wipe the entire disk.
